About me as a mom and newborn photographer
My name is Florentina Gurrieri and I am the mother of three wonderful children. Since childhood, I have been passionate about photography, but due to the poverty and deprivation in which I grew up, I never dared to dream that I would ever work with it professionally.
I come from a large family, and there were days when we didn't know what we would eat. Because of this, I had put my dream away until 2014 when I received a cancer diagnosis and didn't know how long I had to live or how the disease would progress. With this knowledge in mind, my twins became my source of inspiration, and that same year I bought my first camera – a Canon 6D with a single lens.
From Germany, I flew to Arad, Romania, and attended my first photography course. Immediately after my return, I started photographing events. I soon realized how much I loved photographing newborns. So I stopped event photography and focused on newborn photography by attending various workshops. That was a very good decision.
I made mistakes at first, but I kept improving. Even though it was difficult at first, I didn't give up.
Today I mentor numerous photographers and am a recognized photographer whom many parents trust. And even after many years, I still approach my work with full passion, whether I'm conducting a workshop or photographing a newborn in my studio.
